After stain your deck is protected and the water just beads up!
Pressure Washing & Staining
Wood decks require pressure washing every year to extend the life of the deck. Composite decks only require pressure washing when there are signs of mold or mildew. If you are thinking about pressuring washing yourself make sure you set the fan of the nozzle and adjust the distance of the nozzle from the deck to avoid damaging and splintering the surface of your deck. All wood decks require sealing or staining every 2 to 3 years to preserve them. You do not need to stain a composite deck but if you have an old composite deck and it is looking washed out you can stain it. A coat of stain can make your deck look like new again.
